How can I not love you?

I know it's been a very long time since I last dressed up in Lolita. Lately, it is indeed odd, but I feel half of me is losing it and half of me is holding on. And since I had my hair trimmed short, I told myself I should rest from it for a while.

But these past few days, I began to browse and look up again for inspiration. Sometimes, I find some interesting posts on Tumblr or anywhere else about the latest Lolita designs and it made me yearn to dress up or at least make something for myself. I still have tons of fabric here. Maybe I could start sewing again or at least finish some of my previous projects.

Aaaand these are just some of the pieces that I am drooling over... By the way, they may not be new, but I find them inspiring. Something that I could pull off... *maybe*

So summer for me... I love the print and it is something that I could wear in our kind of weather. (Click the photo to view the source.)
Here's another two lovely pieces from Juliette et Justine...

Le camée de la rose (Click the photo to view the source)

Baiser de l'ange (Click the photo to view the source)
They may not be as Loli-ish as others would think. But for my age, I think I couldn't pull off too many frills and ruffles like most younger girls could. I'd go for the Classic look this time. More appropriate for me and for this hot weather.

Now, here comes the *itch* again... I need to sew, soon!~

The PGLC 2nd Anniversary

I'm late! I'm late!

Those were the words running in my thoughts while I was in the cab on my way to the venue of the event. There were heavy traffic, the scorching heat of the afternoon sun and many other things along the way. It was freaking annoying that I have to go through all those things. And I just realized that I was 15 miles away from home. GAAAAH! @_@

BUT, I must be there.

Good thing, I went off alone. I don't think I can tolerate a whining companion.

As soon as I land there, imagine this: All of the girls were smiling and hugging me and saying, "Mummeh, you made it!" and "You're here! Oooh, I love your hair!" and all I could say was:
"F*ck this place."

So soooorry!~ I was really tired and all. I'm so mean. >_< Thank you, girls, for being so understanding. ♥

Anyway, to cut things short, the day went well. It was a lot of fun! Though some of my dearest girls weren't there. : (
Everything still worked out fine. PLUS, we met some new addition to our growing family. ♥ Much, much luurrrve, eh?

So, yeah.. Feast your eyes with these photos!

She's my favorite girl of the day! She made that dress by herself. How talented!~ ♥

Sisters, Therjie and Jane ---> always present in our events. And Liac. My! Effortlessly pretty!

Kleng and Rae

There goes Liac again with the maids at Meidolls Cafe.
Ger and Jes ♥

Ysai, Jane and >_< ♥

Change places? ♥
Us, while playing some silly and fun game. xDDD
And of course, a group shot!~

Yes, I know, I kinda look like Nikki Minaj. >.< That's what they were all saying. Well, I didn't mean to imitate her hair or what. I told you, my hair's supposed to be purple but it wasn't successful. After so many washes, it turned pink. >.< Which I don't really like. So, I'm going to change it as soon as I'm back on my normal routine again. :3

To my girls, thank you! Both you who were there and those who didn't make it. It's just fine. We can still catch up on our next tea party. And that is going to be soon, right? I really wish to see all of you and hug you and chat with you. xDDD ♥

Happy 2nd year to us! More years to come! Cheers! ♥

Bows and more bows

Still remember my post about my first Etsy purchase? With the help of my dear teacher, it ended up like this:

I added some details and made some accessories. It was really stressful for me since I had to work on other important things recently and that I had no time to sew. :(

And the accessories...

shoe clips!~
Yesterday, we had a shoot with a friend. I think she's going to use the photos for a magazine article. I'm going to wait for the photos so I can share them here. Good thing Jaja took some snapshots and emailed them to me today. But I'll blog about them laterrr...

Meanwhile, here's a snap of my shoes...

Anna Sui - thrift find! ♥
I'm sure I'll be seeing you later... ^_^

More Caffeine, please?

I wasn't able to post our International Lolita Day meet up happenings on time. *me too lazy?!* Anyway, Jaja was able to tell you about it in her blog. I guess that you already know what really happened that day. Just to recap, the event took place at my favorite coffee shop (that's within the neighborhood), too near for me but really far from most of my guests. But they've managed to arrive safe. All of the girls were in their lovely dresses that stunned my neighbors! @_@ It's the first time they've witnessed such gathering! *cough* Pardon their *cough* ignorance *more cough*

We're supposed to have a tea party but DANG! Only few of these girls enjoy hot tea. If it's a bubble tea then it'll be okay with them. Too bad, my favorite tea shop is a bit far from here and there's no easy way that all of us could get there since we weren't able to rent a car. I am glad that they all agreed that we do it here in this very nice coffee shop nearby. Also, this is where I used to sit to while away two long, boring hours of my daughter's summer lessons in tennis. Mind you! Their products are low priced but the taste! THE TASTE - isn't cheap!
Here are some snap shots I took before the event.

Located in front of the village clubhouse. Not really hard to find, eh?
I luuurve to sit here!~ ♥
This area is turned into a stage for acoustic nights, usually on weekends.
coffee mug napkin holder and ash tray half filled with ground coffee beans. I can see recycling here!~
*cold choco shake and my fave pepperoni bread stick!*
YUM!~ Sorry! No pics of my fave Iced Cappuccino..
Few shots during the event.
Dear Roca during the ILD...
That's Izh and me (I wore my stripey set and oooh! I love it!) and the fan! LOL xDDD
I don't have much photos to share since I was the hostess and am really busy keeping track of the girls who fought hard with the traffic just to make it here. Thanks, by the way! :)

To wrap it up, the event was successful, fun and really memorable for me! I hope we can do this again soon. Even if it's not ILD, even if it's just an ordinary day, right? :) Who needs an occasion? We can have fun any day, all day long! As long as our pockets permit! Ayt? xDDD

So here's the last photo, I grabbed from a dear friend.
*heartmelts* ♥
Now, I am aching for a shot of caffeine... Gotta go!~

Wordless Wednesday (almost)

Finally! I was able to post for my WW. It's been a long while since my last. Of course, my photo for today will be relevant to my love - Lolita.

I'm dying for the socks! T___T
She's one of my many daughters in the PGLC. She makes her own clothes and she can really pull them off! By the way, her name is Kristina. A student and a Lolita enthusiast. :) A very charming and talented young lady!

Recent creations

I am not certain if I can sell these but I am hoping I could. It has been quite a while since I last updated my online shop and now I am having such a hard time coming back from the long hiatus. Last year was fruitful because I was able to join a lot of conventions with my friend, Jaja. Each time we were at those events, we were able to make it big. But I was not able to update the shop anymore due to busy schedule. I needed more time to make top hats, trinkets, attend sewing classes, and perform household duties. Right now, I am done with my sewing class but I still want to go through advance lessons so I can master my craft. But the school does not allow that anymore. I am trying to persuade my teacher to coach me one on one but she still need to think about it, because, like me, she is a mom and a wife with a very busy life outside her work. Well, I just hope we could fix that so I can finally be able to say that I am worthy to be called the seamstress

Anyway, here are some of my latest projects.

~This, I have designed and sewn!~

I modified this one. It was an ankle length skirt. :3
Both have elastic waistbands and really have a lot of room for your petticoat. I used 2 petti's for my dummy and it really looked good with the poof on. :3

I also made three chokers. Actually they are five but I still am not sure about the other two. I guess I have to edit my work because I do not want customers complaining after they have made the purchase.
So here they are...

Butterflies and a rose

Musical notes and hearts

The stars and a G-clef
All the pearls are just faux pearls yet they look shiny and it costs a lot than the ordinary ones.

Now, I'm thinking... Am I ready for this - AGAIN? :) Well, I hope so... ♥

Dark as the deep blue sea

This is the first JSK that I made.

And I wore this when we went for a vacay in Puerto Galera. I imagined myself walking along the white beach wearing something that has the color of the deep sea. But knowing me, I can't go far from black. Then that's how it all came together. :)

I wasn't able to wear my poof skirt because I am afraid of the attention that I could get from the people I might come across along the beach.
To wrap it up, the sewing experience was fun, the shoot was fun, the vacay was awesome. Only the lack of the petticoat is what's missing on this occasion. T^T
Oh, well... There will always be next time. :))

Welcoming New Year

This is a bit late, I know.

But this is soo important to me... :)

The photo above is me wearing the gifts that I have received from my loving online friends. I rocked out a Lolita dress during New Year's eve, and I thought of wearing them, too, for it complements the dress very well. The white ribbon brooch is from Zeruda, who I love soo much and inspired me a lot. And the necklace is from my very sweet friend/little sister at heart, Emily.Thank you, girls for everything. You're part of the blessing that I have gained in the past years. :))

The shoes...
from my mom ♥

Old folks believed that what you did on the first day of the year, you'll be doing it for the rest of the year and wearing something with dots can bring you good fortune. I want to be a better Lolita this year. A better artist of my own so called art. Of course, I want to earn and make it big this year, too. So I didn't think twice on wearing a polka dot OP for this event. Believing that both will bring me good things this 2011. And what better way to celebrate it? With family, loved ones and friends. Friends who also believe in you and appreciates you.

btw, that dress is also thrifted.. ^_^ lovely!
