A favor for a friend

We did some head shots for my friend's portfolio who happens to be a makeup artist. He invited us over to his place and started right away because it was raining so bad. We wanted natural source of light and yeah, it didn't happen. Bleh! :p

Anyway, I will only be sharing a few photos here because I promised not to divulge too much about this shoot. These are RAW photos, btw. :)

~♥~

The mask hair accessory was designed by *eherm* ME! ^_^
Now available for sale in our shop Labyrinth Garden
It's been quite a while since I made something really special. :) This mask fascinator is hand painted and I added the skull cameo that I have and that's been kept in my stash for a very loOong time. I might be making more soon since I enjoyed making this. And I might be posting them in my Etsy shop. Oh, well.. Too many plans but soo little time. >_<

OH!~ If not for this shoot, I wouldn't know how my hair really looks like. >_<

They started calling me Rainbow Brite. tsss!
Right now, my hair is turning pink and I don't know if I like it that way. I might re-color it before the PGLC Anniversary on the 29th of October. So yeah, I'll see you later again. Gotta work on what to wear for that event.  ♥

Dark and Fun Hour

The Earth Hour is over! But the fun wasn't! We had barbecue and marshmallows and endless chats with friends. It was truly a dark and fun hour! :) There's not much to say about how things went. Our photos will tell more.

Roca was all dressed up for the night! ♥

It was dark, but we managed to cook some barbecue with the help of a flashlight. :)

We just can't wait! xD

What's keeping Jaja busy? xD
and us! xD Credits to EFL for this photo
That was it! We stayed up late because of the endless chatting. I am glad that Jaja and my cousins get along well. ♥ And some plans were made... Something new and fun. We'll keep you posted, of course!

Tell me, how did you spend the Earth Hour? :)

Getting used to fun times

The past week had been all hectic and filled with worthwhile activities for me. I had to attend some important matters with my shop and other related stuffs. All of them were quite successful and I am really happy about it! ♥

during the Grad Mass
I have also attended my son's Graduation Mass last Friday and the fun part was I brought Jaja along! :) Yes, she spent two days here in our house, since we have a lot to furnish regarding EFL and some sewing plans. But we ended up chatting the night away as if we haven't been together for ages. LOL!
I guess taking her with me to my son's school is not quite a great idea for a recreation. But she happily accepted the offer and as a treat, I took her to my favorite tea house near my place. I am glad that she found the place awesome and she liked the bubble tea that we have ordered.

Notice the hair?

*u*

I wanted to grab that book of desserts but I'm afraid I might ruin the table setting. :)

Shoes of the day: Christian Siriano flats ♥
We stayed there for a while, ate heartily and chat endlessly. She was the one who took most of the photos using my cam. The service crew was generous enough and gave us sampler shots of their Iced Latte. (*Geez! I can't find the photos..) It is always fun to get freebies! :)

She decided to go back to her house that day and promised to return next week. Then I am left with tons of clothes to press for the next day. It's my son's graduation day.

I wonder what to wear? ^^

Behind the frills and Jasmine tea

Thank you for patiently waiting! Really, I was excited to tell you all about this epic event! Since Lolita lifestyle/fashion have started capturing the young girls heart (and the young at heart girls - LOL!) here in PH, I've never heard of an event like this before. Maybe there was or some must've attempted but the one we just had was really heartwarming and fun and EPIC! ^_^

All in! :D
The event was attended by only a chosen few because it is solely for the members of our little forum/community. We do not like haters/posers/backstabbers partying with us, so we decided to keep it intimate. Jaja, the forum founder/admin and the event organizer have done a real good job! I believe she deserves a pampering package for a day in the spa and a lot of hugs! (^_^)

Just look at that lovely dress she made for the event! Awesome girl!
I arrived at the venue with my 2 eldest kids, my sister and her daughter a little early. Of course we have to be there before the gates open since I will be managing a booth there and my sister will take care of the food together with a fellow Lolita, Meki.
Sharing the table with Jaja and Kleng

some yumminess on the table! *nomnomnom*

When I saw that the girls are starting to doll up themselves, I realized I shouldn't have come in full Lolita outfit! *toinks!* I mean not just yet because the fashion show will start in two hours. Jaja asked, "Mumeh, aren't you going to change later for the catwalk?" and I was like, @_@ du-uh! yeah, right! How forgetful I could be? I just ruined the element of surprise! *boinks!* Anyway, such mistakes are always inevitable for it was the first time I am going to be walking in the middle of almost nowhere, with the blinding spotlight on your face and loud music plus the scrutinizing eyes all on you! *gasp!*
Us, while trying to drive our anxiety away..
But before that, we had a very fun open discussion with the other members. We had a question and answer portion during the time. The event was also graced by a guest performer who sang two songs for us. Some have gathered around our booth. While I took my chance on Caz' table. Ooohlala! I just love the tarot, the tea cup and  the palm reading she offered.
The open forum fun!
love the voice! ♥
She's my fave girl of the day!
I was amazed by her abilities... :)) wonderful!
I feel sorry that I don't have much photos taken during our catwalk. But I hope you will be delighted with these few snaps... :]

After the nerve-wracking moment!!!
Oh, yeah! Now I know that I really, truly suck at catwalk! LOL! xD

We still have a little more time left for chatting with some friends and photo ops after the highlight and I really took advantage of it! *hihihi* I'd say why not? It's a very special time for us to chat and catch up. We don't get as much chance during conventions, right? :)) Well, here are some more random photos...

See? Long posts are loooong... xD To wrap it up, the event was successful! We may have imperfections but I believe it is forgivable. I would like to congratulate and thank everyone and of course Jaja for making this happen. I feels so blessed to have met you all! And my heart really yearns for more!

And as for you, my dearest readers, I hope you had fun with my post. We're working on our next meet up soon. ~YAY!~

See you again later... xD

Make up post

hyeloow! :)

All of you must have been wondering where I've been. I took a week long off from blogging, well, actually from Facebook-ing too! I am so sorry about this, my princesses! I had to deal with some business matters and visitors, kids, and many more.
I had to craft and make new accessories all week, catch up on my sewing lessons and attend the Cosmania X event during the weekend last week. Until now I haven't recovered from all the stress but I had to blog something and make up for my long absence.
SO, Monday last week, my dearest friend/daughter Jaja, came over with her boyfie. She brought along her portable sewing machine so we can have a sewing marathon and make an outfit for our upcoming event. She taught me how to take measurements, make patterns and sew the pieces together. Too bad, something went wrong with my machine. I guess, the elastic thread that I was trying to use has jammed and I had to stop for a while. Since I am no techie person, I don't know what to do and I got to take it to the repair shop sometime this weekend. *sigh* Lucky enough, I can use the high speed sewing machine in our school and get my teacher's help too! :)) I was able to finish my skirt after like 4 hours of non-stop sewing and ripping and sewing it again.
This is the only pic that I took.. will post some clear pic later.. :)
I received a lot of compliments while donning that skirt at the event. And the best part is, some asked if I can make one for them. Maybe, in the coming weeks, I'll be busy sewing skirts for these people. Yay! :))

Endless thanks to Jaja and my teacher!

Watch out for my next post! ^_^

The Best of Anime 2010

I still hasn't recovered from the stress during past the weekend. :( My daughter and I went to the Best of Anime @ the SMX. Of course, Jaja was there in her booth with her boyfie. Everything was like "woah!"... I wasn't ready for the fuss and people that are all around the place. Blame the stress! Last week, I had to attend to my son's activities and my own too... I worked double time for some more stuffs to sell during on the said event. Ooh my!
I really want to dive in to my bed right now! So I guess I'll just leave you these photos to enjoy. *wink*

goodies on the table.. :)

Next schedule will be: Cosmania 2010

I don't know if I should say "YAY!" or "UGH!" But I know the event would be more exciting and I'm expecting more people will come to our booth.

~see you in a while!~

Late weekend report

yay! :))
I finally got my keyboard fixed! Now I can post and post and post! :)

So, how was your weekend? I've had a very busy one. Last Saturday, my friend, Jaja, invited me to join her in a convention in Manila. It was attended by so many students and anime/cosplay enthusiast. It was a lot of fun! :)

I used to feel uncomfortable going to events like these. People would often ask you, "Excuse me? You're a character of what Anime?" Gaaaah! And I always thought, if Lolita is not cosplay, then why Lolitas go to cons? But where else would they go? I mean, people here in my place doesn't seem to appreciate Lolita. If people see you walking around wearing a frilly dress and bows in your head, they would most likely tease, humiliate, or call you names. That's the sad truth! And that's why some girls here who have just started trying Lolita would suddenly change their minds. They can't get used to ugly things like that. Err... I mean, who would? Right? Luckily, some managed to survive. I also want to survive! So, what the heck?! :)) And with this in mind, I can't help but to get excited - I can't wait for our Forum's 1st Anniversary Meet! Exclusively for Lolitas! ^_^

So much for the rant... ^_^ Anyway, here are some photos I took and some are grabbed from Jaja. :))

Girls flocked around Jaja's table :)

here's mine... :)
and then there's me! knitting while these cute girls looking around my space
and of course, Jaja. I took this photo! yay! :)

The event was held in Intramuros, a great, old and very lovely place! I wish we could have a shoot there with my Lolita friends - SOON! :)

How about you? Did you have a busy weekend? :))
